Developer offers custom fit on condos
By: Douglas Hanks
Haim Einhorn will build you a loft in downtown Miami. Just
tell him the size.
The developer plans 14 stories of lofts in a renovated Capital
Building at 117 NE First Ave. He wants to customize each unit.
"We will absolutely tailor it to any client's needs,"
he said.
The pledge would upend the way developers usually do buildings,
which is preselling condos to buyers who may, or may not, ultimately
close on the units once construction is finished. But Haim is converting
the hollowed-out 1926 office building to condominiums, meaning all
that's left is to put up the interior walls.
The 17-story building (the first three floors will be for retail
amenities) would sell for about $210 a square foot, Haim said, and
lofts would run from as small as 650 square feet to an entire floor.
